Here is your middle park fishing report for the week of 6-25-18

Lake Granby- Rainbows are up in the shallow bays eating bugs in the evenings. A small spoon or fly cast to rises will elicit bites. During the day powerbait and worms fished near the bottom should catch a few fish. Browns are still cruising the shorelines early and late in the day. The key is to fish deeper for them. Deep diving crank baits like a flicker shad or marabou jigs fished through 8'-10' of water should get bit. Lake trout are being caught in depths of 40'-100' of water. Spoons, tube jigs, twister tails and trolled crank baits will all produce bites.

Grand Lake- Rainbows are being caught near any moving water and in a few spots along the shorelines. Spoons and power bait are working well early and late in the day. A few browns are being caught on minnow style baits along the shorelines. Lake trout are being caught 30'-60'deep. Tube jigs, twister tails, and spoons tipped with sucker meat should get bites.  

Williams Fork Fishing Report - Surface temp is in the AM is in the low 60's warming to mid 60's in the afternoon. Will Fork is at 99% capacity. She's already going down! The Lake Trout bite is good. We are catching fish in 46' to 76' of water on rubber jigs tipped with sucker meat. Some jiggers are catching fish in 100' to 150' of water. Small stocked Rainbows are cruising the shoreline. They should be catch-able with small spinners or flies. Pike bite is slow but improving as the water warms. Slow moving jerk baits may produce some hits in the AM. Spinner baits cranked just fast enough to move the blades should produce some fish in the PM. Kokanee trolling is slow. I'm hearing the catch rate is one to two fish per hour. Middle Park fishing report for the week of 6-4-18

Here is your middle park report for the week of 6-4-18. 

Grand Lakes Surface temp is in the high 40's. As the summer time temps raise, the trout have been sliding out a little bit deeper to follow the prime water. Right now, it is very important watch your electronics and adjust your techniques accordingly. Fishing high in the water column has been productive but once the sun beats down on the surface, the trout have been going deeper. Casting small spoons and spinners has been best for the rainbows and browns lately in 5-20 feet of water.  The cooler water seems to be holding the fish so early and late in the day have been the best times for consistency. The lake trout on Grand Lake seem to be close to steep drops where they can get at their meal and then retreat back to the deeper, cooler water. Small tubes with a small piece of meat and spoons have been working best. I have been seeing the majority of the fish from 30-60 feet deep depending on time of day. The fly fishing remains good using large, dark bugs. Once the water clears up a bit, it will be prime dry fly time and that means some great fishing is right around the corner. Williams Fork, Surface temp is in the low 50's. Williams Fork is at 91% capacity. Lake Trout bite is very good. We are finding most fish in 50' to 70' foot of water on rubber jigs tipped with sucker meat on or just above the bottom. Rainbows are being caught from shore on spinners and tight-lining with worms, eggs or Power Bait. Northern Pike is slow as is trolling for Kokanee. There is still a lot of debris on the water. Lake Granby, Surface temp is in the 50's. Rainbows are in the shallows. Worms, power bait, small spoons and spinners are working well. Browns are near rocky areas. Marabou jigs, spoons and crank baits are all producing fish throughout the day.

Lake trout fishing is very good, tube jigs tipped with sucker meat,  Reelbait slab spoons and "Gulp" minnows are all working for the jiggers. Trollers are catching fish on spoons and crank baits. There are a few kokanee being caught over deeper water with small bright spoons and spinners.

Here is your middle park report for the week of 5-28-18.

Williams Fork Fishing, Surface temp is in the high 40's. Lake trout can still be found relativity shallow early in the morning. Move to deeper water late morning. Lake Trout bite has been good up to 1:00 PM in 50' to 70' of water on any rubber jig tipped with sucker meat. Shore fisherman are catching small Rainbows casting or tight-lining with bait. Pike bite has been slow but will improve once the lake fills. Their is a lot of debris on the lake right now. Watch out for logs! Lake trout can be anywhere in the water column, the best bite seems to be 30-50 feet deep. Power minnows, tubes and spoons are getting bit on a regular basis. Here is your Middle park fishing report for the week of 3-5-2018. The slush seems to have frozen up. We are seeing people walking a long ways out and ate's around the lake.

Williams Fork Fishing Report , The ice is holding at 10-12” thick in most spots with some slushy areas spread out around the lake.

Here is your middle park fishing report for the week of 2-5-18. 

Grand Lake is fishing well for rainbows along the shorelines. Small jigs tipped with wax worms are working well.

Middle Park fishing report for 1-30-2018

Thanks to everyone that came to fish the 3 Lakes ice fishing contest. By now the fish have settled down and will eat. Lake Granby is fishing very good for all species. Rainbows and browns are being caught in water less then 15 feet deep on small jigs tipped with wax worms. Spoons are a great attractor. Most Lake trout are being caught at 40-70 feet of water. Tube jigs, hair jigs, spoons, and plain jig heads tipped with a small piece of sucker meat are enticing bites. 

Williams Fork, The fishing dropped off a bit this week, but there are still plenty of 12-17” lake trout being caught on the usual baits. Focus on structure in 35-65 feet of water for the best action. Tube jigs tipped with sucker meat and various jigging spoons are consistently producing a few strikes. Smaller baits like bare jigheads with a chunk of sucker and gulp minnows are also catching a few. The key is moving around to find the highest concentrations of fish. Bigger lakers have been tough to entice recently but there is always the possibility of a trophy at this lake. The best tactic for rainbows has been to fish early in the day in shallow water in one of the bays with micro jigs or crappie tubes. A few pike are also being caught in shallow water bays but action for them is hit or miss. 

The ice is about 12-14 inches thick across most of the lake with a slightly thinner area near the dam. There is still about 6 inches of snow on top of the ice. There is still no slush anywhere on the lake. Tucker Bamford

Grand Lake, The Rainbow trout and Brown trout continue to be active and hungry with the best bite being early and late in the day.  They are being found between 8ft and 16ft of water depending on time of day and are being caught on a variety of baits, but the Leech Flutter Spoon by Clam tipped with a wax worm has been my go to bait.  Lake trout are being caught all over the lake, but it takes some diligence and searching.  Get out drill some holes and use that Vexilar to determine where the Lake trout are and what their mood is for the day, seems to change every day. Ice is in good shape on the town side of the lake, use caution if venturing out, and beware of the areas with moving water, as the ice varies significantly there compared to rest of lake!.  Be safe and good luck.  Dan Shannon, Guide – Fishing with Bernie

We are starting to get fishable ice here in the county. Please be very cautious venturing out, bring safety gear and a friend. 

Williams Fork reservoir, fully capped, fishing has been very good for this time of year.
