Grand Lake - Boat ramp hours are 6am to 8pm. Fishing has been fair for rainbow trout and brown trout. We are finding them shallow6-10ft early in the day but as sun rises the fish move to the deeper cooler water in the 15-20ft range. Either trolling or casting bright flashy colored spinners tipped with a small piece of worm has been producing fish. Target the inlet areas where the cool fresh water is coming in or by the boat ramp where there is a steep drop off to deep water. Lake trout are being caught in 60-100ft of water, vertical jigging Leech Flutter spoons tipped with a small piece of sucker belly, or 3” pumpkin green colored tubes has been most productive. Williams Fork Reservoir- The east boat ramp hours are 6AM to 8PM daily. The water level is 100%. Inflow and outflow are both 88cfs. Water clarity is about 12 feet. The surface temp is 65 warming to 67 on clear calm days. Most of the loose chip seal gravel on county road 3 has moved to the edges of the road, but county road 341 still has a lot of loose gravel. The Lake Trout bite is pretty good for the first few hours of the morning. By late morning the bite gets slow, by noon it's time to head in for lunch. I'm still seeing an average of about 10 fish per rod, with most being the usual Will Fork "dinks". Nothing wrong with sitting on "dinks" as the big Laker's are eating them. All age groups can be found in 60 to 80 feet of water. Small tubes tipped with sucker meat fish slowly and gently on or near the bottom is working best for us. Sometimes adding scent helps when the bite slows down. Northern Pike are slow as usual, in part due to a decrease in population and many of bigger fish no longer live in their traditional habitat. They've moved to deeper water where the food is making it harder to catch them. Please practice catch and release on all Northern's caught. Brown Trout are feeding along the rocks north of the east boat ramp, and in the inlet before the sun hits the water. The lake hasn't been stocked with Rainbow's or Kokes since 2019 in an effort to control gill lice, so there isn't much action fishing for them. Randy H - Guide Fishing with Bernie
Lake Granby - Boat Ramp hours are 6am-8pm. Water level is at 97% or approximately 2ft below full, water temperatures have been mid 60’s to start the morning and warming to upper 60’s by the afternoon. Rainbow and Brown trout action has been fair to good depending on conditions. Early in the day or when there is a good “chop” on the water look to the rocky shorelines with an erratically worked jerk bait or spoon to find the rainbow and brown trout. Lake trout action has remained good. Fish have not starting bumping deeper yet to the cooler water but that should start happening soon. Look for them in 60-85ft of water along structure that has access to deeper water close by. 2-3” tubes in watermelon/green pumpkin color have been go to bait tipped with a small piece of sucker and some scent.
