Grand County fishing report for the week of 2-24-20

Here is your Grand County fishing report for the week of 2-24-20. The slush is still an issue, people traveling on the lakes are breaking up the snow allowing some slush to freeze.

William's Fork - 14 to 17 inch lake trout are being caught in 50 to 70 feet of water with small 1 to 3 inch plastics tipped with sucker meat. Bite has been decent however we are starting to see fish come in and follow jigs without biting in heavily fished areas. Wind has moved the snow around the lake this week creating slush free areas and areas with deep drifted snow and slush. Sam Hochevar- Guide Fishing with Bernie

Grand Lake- Fishing has been fair to good for all species.  There is a lot of deep snow and slush when you get away from the part close to town that was hit hard by the tournament over the weekend. Lake trout are being caught both on the bottom and suspended on various plastics and spoons,  depths from 50-80ft have been producing well.   Rainbows and browns are being caught in 10-20 ft of water early and late in the day on small jigs tipped with wax worms.  - Dan Shannon, Guide- Fishing with berniekeefe@hotmail.com

Lake Granby- Slush continues to be an issue, be very careful and have a few friends to help you get out if your bringing an atv. Lake trout are fishing good with small plastics tipped with sucker meat. Spoons and bait are also producing. Rainbows are eating small bright jigs tipped with wax worms close to the shorelines.
