Grand County fishing report for the week of 10-11-2020

Here is your Grand County fishing report for the week of 10-11-2020

Grand Lake - Lake trout are in 20 to 40 feet of water and the bite has been decent. Lake trout are still spawning, however it is starting to tapper down. Small spoons tipped with sucker meat have produced most of the fish. The bite for browns and rainbows has been good this week with most of the action coming early in the morning or late afternoon with exception to overcast days. Most of the browns and rainbows have been caught in 5 to 10 feet of water along shorelines and on shallow flats.
Guide Sam Hochevar- fishing with BernieWilliams Fork - Ramp hours are 7AM to 7PM. The boat ramp will close for the season on October 31st. Water capacity is 84%. Surface temp is 53. The Lake Trout bite remains good as the fish move into spawn. Look for them in 70 to 80 foot of water. Small grubs, tubes or spoons tipped with sucker meat, or salmon eggs will produce light bites through mid-day. Rainbows fishing is slow, but they are moving back into the bays. Casting spinners early morning and the last couple hours of daylight may produce some hits. Northern Pike are slow. I'm seeing fish late morning in 6 to 8 foot. Slow moving suspending baits may prompt a hit. The remaining four year old Kokanee are in full spawn and not feeding. Randy H Guide - Fishing with BernieLake Granby- Fishing for Rainbows along the bank has been very good this past week and should get better. Bait on the bottom has been very consistent. Browns are still in the gravel type areas, minnow baits, tubes and bushy flies are all working very well. Lake trout have moved a little shallower then last week. they continue to eat spoons and grubs tipped with sucker meat. The Fishing with Bernie team has been guiding in Grand county for over 25 years.
