Here his your middle park fishing report for the week of March 22nd. Spring conditions are upon us, be aware of the ice your on. Look for soft spots and open water.

Lake Granby- Lake trout are hitting tube jigs tipped with sucker meat, flutter spoons, "GULP" minnows and a variety of other baits. There are a lot of fish being caught in 50'-80' of water. Rainbows are being caught in water less then 10' deep on bright colored jigs tipped with wax worms.

Williams Fork Fishing Report – The ice is still holding up at about 14” but is getting very soft in spots along the edges. Getting on and off the lake safely could be difficult by the weekend. If you head out, use extreme caution and proper safety gear. The lake trout bite has been good in 40-80 feet of water. The best activity has been before 10 AM and after 4 PM. The usual tubes tipped with sucker, gulp minnows, and flutter spoons are all catching a few fish. Some of the fish are suspended well off the bottom. Action for rainbows is fair to good back in the shallow bays and near the inlet in less than 10’ of water. Small drop jigs tipped with salmon eggs or mealworms have been producing well. Pike action has been fair. They’re mostly back in the bays as well, also 10’ or shallower.

Grand Lake – 3.26.18      Spring conditions across the lake, we had a little rain this week which does not help the ice, as always check the ice as you go if you are venturing out.  Rainbows are biting well in the channel between Grand and Shadow on small spoons, spinners or a worm drifted under a bobber.   The area in front of the town docks is also producing well for stocker rainbows, a small jig tipped with a salmon egg or waxie will entice a few bites.  Lake trout are still suspending over the deeper water,  use your Vexilar and move around until you find the active fish, target depths between 70-100’  with small tubes or spoons tipped with sucker meat.  Stay safe open water is not far off!   Dan Shannon, Guide – Fishing with Bernie
