Middle Park fishing report 4-25-2018

 

Here is your middle Park fishing report for the week of April 25, 2018. The ice is coming off most of the reservoirs in the area. Walking the shoreline casting lures or bait will work very well. Try casting lures or bait shallow early and late in the day. The fish will move deeper as the sun rises. Stillwater boat ramp is open from 6 am till 8 pm. The gates are locked at all other times. Williams Fork will be open to boating on May 12. Grand Lake and Shadow Mtn will be open on May 20. (Those are the dates I heard). Check with the officials to be sure.

Here his your middle park fishing report for the week of Aril 2nd  Spring conditions are upon us, be aware of the ice your on. Look for soft spots and open water.

Grand Lake,  We are still ice fishing!  Spring conditions out there and changing fast, check the ice often and use caution.  Bite has been fair for all species.  The best bite for Rainbows and Browns has been early or late in the day, with Clam Leech Flutter spoons or erratic jigging baits.

Here his your middle park fishing report for the week of March 22nd. Spring conditions are upon us, be aware of the ice your on. Look for soft spots and open water. 

Lake Granby- Lake trout are hitting tube jigs tipped with sucker meat, flutter spoons, "GULP" minnows and a variety of other baits. There are a lot of fish being caught in 50'-80' of water. Rainbows are being caught in water less then 10' deep on bright colored jigs tipped with wax worms. 

Williams Fork Fishing Report – The ice is still holding up at about 14” but is getting very soft in spots along the edges.

Here his your middle park fishing report for the week of March 22nd. Spring conditions are upon us, be aware of the ice your on. Look for soft spots and open water. 

Grand Lake - ice is holding up but definitely shows signs of spring conditions.   Rainbows are biting well In front of the town docks on various small jigs and spoons tipped with meal worms or eggs.   The suspended lake trout bite over 70-100' of water has been most consistent for lake trout,  but you'll have to be mobile find them, tube jigs tipped with sucker will coax them to bite.

Here is your Middle park fishing report for the week of 3-5-2018. The slush seems to have frozen up. We are seeing people walking a long ways out and ate's around the lake. The wind has been bad this past couple weeks, please keep your stuff anchored down.

Lake Granby- The bite for lake trout seems to have gotten a little better this past week. Downsizing the jigs seemed to get us more bites as well as bites from Quality fish. Tubes tipped with sucker meat, Gulp minnows and flutter spoons all got bit on a regular basis. Depths from 50-100' seemed to have the most aggressive fish.

Here is your Middle park fishing report for the week of 3-5-2018. The slush seems to have frozen up. We are seeing people walking a long ways out and ate's around the lake. The wind has been bad this past couple weeks, please keep your stuff anchored down.

Lake Granby- The bite for lake trout seems to have gotten a little better this past week. Downsizing the jigs seemed to get us more bites as well as bites from Quality fish. Tubes tipped with sucker meat, Gulp minnows and flutter spoons all got bit on a regular basis. Depths from 50-100' seemed to have the most aggressive fish.

The lake is in the process of freezing the slush back up and walkers as well as machines are starting to get along just fine. William Fork Reservoir fishing report. The ice is holding up well and is 12-18” thick depending on the area. There are still a few slushy spots. Action for lakers has been good this week. Most of them are being caught 40-80 feet deep but some fish are also suspended over deeper water. Tube jigs and minnow style soft plastics tipped with sucker meat have been the top producers but flutter spoons are also producing a few strikes. Action for rainbows is fair.

Here is your middle park fishing report for the week of 2-19-18. Slush is starting to rear its ugly head and with the snow expected this week it might get difficult.

Grand Lake  -  Ice is holding up well despite the warm temps.  Finding 10-16" depending on your location on the lake.   The open water area grows and shrinks depending on the day,  use caution  if venturing out across the lake.   Fishing has been fair,  typical for mid February.   Rainbows are active In the shallower areas best action early in the day on small jigs and salmon eggs.

Here is your middle park fishing report for the week of 2-12-18.

Williams Fork Fishing Report , The ice is holding at 10-12” thick in most spots with some slushy areas spread out around the lake. Rainbows are being caught in shallow water (less than 15’) as they start to get into pre-spawn mode. Micro jigs tipped with salmon eggs or mealworms, small tubes, and jigging spoons will all have a good chance at fooling them. A few pike are also being caught in the shallows but the action for them is hit or miss. Lake trout action has been fair to good depending on the day.

Here is your middle park fishing report for the week of 2-5-18. 

Grand Lake is fishing well for rainbows along the shorelines. Small jigs tipped with wax worms are working well. Lake trout are eating small tubes and spoons tipped with sucker meat in the depths of 30-80' deep.

Williams Fork Rainbows are in water less then 15' deep and will eat bright colored spoons and jig tipped with wax worms. Pike are still a little slow but can be caught in shallow water. Lake Trout are being caught on small tubes, spoons and various plastics tipped with sucker meat.
